My husband Tim and I moved to Arizona from Illinois in 1994 to enjoy the wonderful Arizona weather. I worked as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Illinois and as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Prescott shortly after moving to Arizona. I joined the Kachina Animal Hospital team in December of 2011 and enjoy working with the different patients and their owners that we see everyday. I have been in the veterinary field for almost 20 years and have been a certified veterinary technician since 2000. In my spare time, I love being outdoors, especially riding my horse on the trails around my home. My husband and I have many “kids” including horses, dogs, cats, geese, ducks, chickens, and an ornamental turkey.
Sativa SalcidoVeterinary Technician Assistant
Hey there! I’m Sativa! I’ve been a part of the Kachina family since March 2016 . It has definitely been a long journey but I couldn’t ask for a better team by my side. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the animal field and Kachina has made it such a great experience jumping into this world. I’ve worked hard and have moved from an animal caregiver position to now a veterinary assistant. When I’m not at Kachina you can more so find me at home with my old man Lance who is a 9 yr old Rottweiler mix and his best friend Lily who is a year and a half old blue heeler. As well as some giant fish tanks, and a few tarantulas. Oh ya, and a boyfriend somewhere in this mix. I’m a huge family girl. They mean everything to mean. We are one of those close families that are constantly together or talking every day in some way. I love it! I wouldn’t change that for the world. I’m always one to throw out the positive vibes. You’ll usually never see without a smile and flashing a peace sign.
SheldynVeterinary Technician Assistant
Hello! I’m Sheldyn. I have been with the Kachina family since July 2018 . I started at KAH as a client service representative, around November of 2018 I became a veterinary assistant and will be working towards becoming certified. KAH is my first position working in a veterinary hospital. It has been, and will continue to be an amazing experience. I have learned so much from Kachina. I love what I have chosen as a career and the place that is launching it. I have a sweet 2 1/2 year old pitbull named “Banks”, I rescued him in 2017 and he has forever changed my life. I may be a little “biased” when it comes to Pitbulls, but I love all breeds of animals. The joy that I get working with animals is something so great, I wont give it up! I enjoy being able to care for each and every pet that walks in our doors.
HeavenVeterinary Technician Assistant
I grew up as an “Army Brat” traveling with my family overseas and all over the country. Maryland, New York, Tennessee and we ended up in Phoenix Arizona. My focus growing up was dance and art; however after attending ASU for animation I realized my heart was with animals. After moving to Prescott valley in 2014 I joined KAH as an animal caregiver. I have transitioned in to a tech assistant and am attending school to obtain my degree in veterinary technology and become a CVT. I can’t wait to see where my adventure takes me.
Jacob BallardVeterinary Technician
Hello! I moved from Wisconsin to Arizona and joined the team at Kachina Animal Hospital in September 2019. I graduated from the Madison College Veterinary Technician Program in Madison, WI in May of 2019 and I am truly excited to begin my career in Veterinary Medicine. I could not have asked for a nicer bunch of people to learn from and work alongside of than those at KAH as I start this new chapter in my life. Aside from nursing animals and helping their owners alike, I spend my time with my loving wife Claire and our two children Noah, a Boston Terrier Mix, and Fitz, a Snowshoe cat. When not surrounded by my family I am often playing music. I have been a multi-instrumentalist for most of my life and consider it my passion, next to helping animals. I obtained my national license as a Veterinary Technician and I anticipate becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician in December of 2019 once I complete the Arizona State Board Exam.
My name is Jaclyn. I grew up on a farm in Taylors Valley Virginia. As I grew, I realized that caring for animals was something that I am very passionate about. I have been working in the veterinary field since 2017 and plan to continue my education in veterinary science to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinarian. For now, I am enjoying working here at Kachina Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician with an amazing team.
