Meet the Staff

  • Julia Lynn
    DVM
    Medical Director / President

I always wanted to have a career working with animals. I started my college education with a focus on wildlife management, and received and Associates degree and a Bachelors degree in that field. While finishing my Bachelors degree at Louisiana Tech University, I became friends with the wife of one of my Forestry professors who is a veterinarian. I shared with her that I never felt that I was 'smart enough' for veterinary school so never pursued veterinary medicine as a career option. She encouraged me to try as she saw how much I loved animals. I was realizing then that the profession of wildlife management was not what I thought it would be - very little hands-on with animals. I didn't have the prerequisite coursework needed to apply to Vet School so had to continue taking college courses for another two years - primarily chemistry, calculus, physics, ..... That was a fun two years (NOT). But I got it done and applied. I was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (my home state) and graduated in May 1994.

  • Dan Styre DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

I was born & raised in Phoenix.  I attended Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and returned to Arizona following graduation.  I worked at several small animal practices before purchasing a practice in Scottsdale, which I owned for a number of years.  I retired in 2014 and we moved to Humboldt.  After 2 years of retirement I grew bored and missed working with clients and pets.  I went back to work in 2016 and joined Kachina Animal Hospital in early 2020.  I love working with the staff  as well as all the great clients and pets that come here.  We currently live in Chino Valley with our 5 dogs and 10 cats.

  • Craig Nausley
    DVM
    Associate Veterinarian

I grew up in small towns in the Midwest. I always wanted to become a veterinarian and never strayed from that path. I graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. I then moved to Tucson, Arizona and worked for a short time as an associate and emergency veterinarian. In 1980 I opened my own practice. Over the next 39 years I owned and operated two practices in Tucson. In June of 2019 I left full time practice. Having owned a second home in Prescott since 2011, I explored working part-time in the area and found Kachina Animal Hospital. I enjoy working at Kachina very much and have a great appreciation for the staff, clients, and pets.

I believe in evidence-based medicine utilizing history, physical exam, and diagnostics to arrive at a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. I enjoy using advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound, echocardiogram, and endoscopy. I have always had an affinity for surgery and perform a variety of procedures from routine to advanced.

Outside of practice I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. I am an avid hiker and enjoy the many Prescott area trails.

  • Dawn CVT
    Certified Veterinary Technician - Supervisor

My husband Tim and I moved to Arizona from Illinois in 1994 to enjoy the wonderful Arizona weather. I worked as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Illinois and as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Prescott shortly after moving to Arizona. I joined the Kachina Animal Hospital team in December of 2011 and enjoy working with the different patients and their owners that we see everyday. I have been in the veterinary field for almost 20 years and have been a certified veterinary technician since 2000. In my spare time, I love being outdoors, especially riding my horse on the trails around my home. My husband and I have many “kids” including horses, dogs, cats, geese, ducks, chickens, and an ornamental turkey.

  • Sativa
    Veterinary Technician Assistant

Hey there! I’m Sativa! I’ve been a part of the Kachina family since March 2016 . It has definitely been a long journey but I couldn’t ask for a better team by my side. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the animal field and Kachina has made it such a great experience jumping into this world. I’ve worked hard and have moved from an animal caregiver position to now a veterinary assistant. When I’m not at Kachina you can more so find me at home with my old man Lance who is a 9 yr old Rottweiler mix and his best friend Lily who is a year and a half old blue heeler. As well as some giant fish tanks, and a few tarantulas. Oh ya, and a boyfriend somewhere in this mix. I’m a huge family girl. They mean everything to mean. We are one of those close families that are constantly together or talking every day in some way. I love it! I wouldn’t change that for the world. I’m always one to throw out the positive vibes. You’ll usually never see without a smile and flashing a peace sign.

  • Heaven T

I grew up as an “Army Brat” traveling with my family overseas and all over the country. Maryland, New York, Tennessee and we ended up in Phoenix Arizona. My focus growing up was dance and art; however after attending ASU for animation I realized my heart was with animals. After moving to Prescott valley in 2014 I joined KAH as an animal caregiver. I have transitioned in to a tech assistant and am attending school to obtain my degree in veterinary technology and become a CVT. I can’t wait to see where my adventure takes me.

I'm Katie.  I joined the KAH family in July 2020.  I was born in Arizona but aslo spent many years in Maui, Hawaii.  I'm very grateful to get paid doing what I love, which is helping animals.  At 18 years old I started working at a rescue taking care of rabbits then moved on to become a veterinary assistant.  In 2015 I had my daughter and decided to stay home for couple years.  When I started working again, I explored some other career paths but I missed working with animals.  My free time is spent with my 5 year old daughter, our family and our rescued cat named 'Shadow'.  I also love road trips, exploring, and learning about plants and wildlife.

Hello there! I am a Prescott Native, born & raised. It is still my favorite place to be and I'm proud to call it home. I started in the veterinary field directly out of high school. In this field I've tried it all - I started as a kennel attendant, moved to reception, tech'd for a short time, and, last but not least, into management. My passions are family and animals.  I cherish the relationships made with the fur babies and their families. I have many fur babies of my own including cats, dogs, pigs and chickens.  I am the proud mom of 3 amazing daughters (and blessed with several 'bonus' kids). We spend as much time as possible in our beautiful outdoors. I joined Kachina in 2014 and I am honored to be part of this amazing team! Come on in & say hi!

  • Chloe K
    Veterinary Kennel Technician

My whole life I grew up wanting to work with animals.  When I was 2 years old I moved from Phoenix to a little farm in Dewey.  I had horses, dogs, cats and plenty more.  I've always loved taking care of them, especially training.  My mother always encouraged me to get a job working with any type of animal.  She knew how much I loved spending my time playing with the dogs and riding our horses.  I thought I would never be smart enough to work in an animal hospital but I kept on pushing and finally started my career at Kachina Animal Hospital.  I'm very glad I decided to start here as a Kennel Technician as my time working here has been exciting.  My goal at Kachina Animal Hospital is to make not only the patients but also the owners happy and treat everyone with great care during their visit.

Read What Our Clients Say

  • "Dr. Lynn was so comforting as we assisted Shilo over the rainbow bridge. Shilo had his first puppy shots with her and his last shot today at 13. She and her staff are amazing and I would not go anywhere else."
    Beth W.
  • "I have been taking my fur babies here for a long time. Just the other day I had to bring in one of my older fur babies and have her euthanized. This was my first experience with this as an adult. Every staff member I encountered during this rough day was amazing. They were all kind and caring. They made the whole situation a little easier to handle. While holding my fur baby and giving her all the love I could the vet tech and veterinarian kept my 2 year old occupied by talking to him and playing with him. They didn’t have to do that but they did. I wish I could remember their names. But their faces are forever in my memory of helping us through that sad time. I am forever grateful for the wonderful people at Kachina Animal Hospital!"
