Meet the Staff

  • Dr. Craig Nausley

I grew up in small towns in the Midwest. I always wanted to become a veterinarian and never strayed from that path. I graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 1978. I then moved to Tucson, Arizona and worked for a short time as an associate and emergency veterinarian. In 1980 I opened my own practice. Over the next 39 years I owned and operated two practices in Tucson. In June of 2019 I left full time practice. Having owned a second home in Prescott since 2011, I explored working part-time in the area and found Kachina Animal Hospital. I enjoy working at Kachina very much and have a great appreciation for the staff, clients, and pets.

I believe in evidence-based medicine utilizing history, physical exam, and diagnostics to arrive at a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan. I enjoy using advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound, echocardiogram, and endoscopy. I have always had an affinity for surgery and perform a variety of procedures from routine to advanced.

Outside of practice I enjoy spending time with my family and pets. I am an avid hiker and enjoy the many Prescott area trails.

  • Sandra

Hello, I am Sandra. I have been working at Kachina since mid 2019. It’s a new adventure for me working with animals but I am loving it. New challenge, new growth and a bit of fun. I look forward to meeting you and your pets.

  • Annette
    Animal Caregiver

I joined Kachina in 2019 with a desire to make a change from my prior career path. Working in the kennel has opened my eyes to the world of animals and veterinary medicine. I am looking forward to learning, new friends, and meeting all of our client’s fur babies.

  • Heaven
    Veterinary Technician Assistant

I grew up as an “Army Brat” traveling with my family overseas and all over the country. Maryland, New York, Tennessee and we ended up in Phoenix Arizona. My focus growing up was dance and art; however after attending ASU for animation I realized my heart was with animals. After moving to Prescott valley in 2014 I joined KAH as an animal caregiver. I have transitioned in to a tech assistant and am attending school to obtain my degree in veterinary technology and become a CVT. I can’t wait to see where my adventure takes me.

  • Dawn CVT
    Certified Veterinary Technician - Supervisor

My husband Tim and I moved to Arizona from Illinois in 1994 to enjoy the wonderful Arizona weather. I worked as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Illinois and as a receptionist at an animal hospital in Prescott shortly after moving to Arizona. I joined the Kachina Animal Hospital team in December of 2011 and enjoy working with the different patients and their owners that we see everyday. I have been in the veterinary field for almost 20 years and have been a certified veterinary technician since 2000. In my spare time, I love being outdoors, especially riding my horse on the trails around my home. My husband and I have many “kids” including horses, dogs, cats, geese, ducks, chickens, and an ornamental turkey.

    Client Service Representative

Hi! It is nice to meet everyone! I was born and raised in Arizona. Being native to Arizona, I have traveled and seen all the beautiful places here in Arizona. I have had animals all my life. This includes dogs, pigs, cows and horses. Being at Kachina gives me a great opportunity to work with the pets and help our clients.

  • Angela
    Client Service Representative

Hi I'm Angela. I grew up in a small town, on a big property, with lots of animals. My passion for animals started at a young age. I grew up with dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks, a horse, goats, bunnies and even a raccoon that we rescued. I joined Kachina Animal Hospital as a CSR in April of 2019 and I'm so thankful to be a part of this team. We have unique individuals, great leaders and amazing clients. I enjoy watching your pets grow, caring for them and providing customer satisfaction. Love my Kachina Family!

  • Sativa Salcido
    Veterinary Technician Assistant

Hey there! I’m Sativa! I’ve been a part of the Kachina family since March 2016 . It has definitely been a long journey but I couldn’t ask for a better team by my side. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the animal field and Kachina has made it such a great experience jumping into this world. I’ve worked hard and have moved from an animal caregiver position to now a veterinary assistant. When I’m not at Kachina you can more so find me at home with my old man Lance who is a 9 yr old Rottweiler mix and his best friend Lily who is a year and a half old blue heeler. As well as some giant fish tanks, and a few tarantulas. Oh ya, and a boyfriend somewhere in this mix. I’m a huge family girl. They mean everything to mean. We are one of those close families that are constantly together or talking every day in some way. I love it! I wouldn’t change that for the world. I’m always one to throw out the positive vibes. You’ll usually never see without a smile and flashing a peace sign.

  • Julia Lynn
    Medical Director / President

I always wanted to have a career working with animals. I started my college education with a focus on wildlife management, and received and Associates degree and a Bachelors degree in that field. While finishing my Bachelors degree at Louisiana Tech University, I became friends with the wife of one of my Forestry professors who is a veterinarian. I shared with her that I never felt that I was 'smart enough' for veterinary school so never pursued veterinary medicine as a career option. She encouraged me to try as she saw how much I loved animals. I was realizing then that the profession of wildlife management was not what I thought it would be - very little hands-on with animals. I didn't have the prerequisite coursework needed to apply to Vet School so had to continue taking college courses for another two years - primarily chemistry, calculus, physics, ..... That was a fun two years (NOT). But I got it done and applied. I was accepted to the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine (my home state) and graduated in May 1994.

  • Sheldyn
    Veterinary Technician Assistant

Hello! I’m Sheldyn. I have been with the Kachina family since July 2018 . I started at KAH as a client service representative, around November of 2018 I became a veterinary assistant and will be working towards becoming certified. KAH is my first position working in a veterinary hospital. It has been, and will continue to be an amazing experience. I have learned so much from Kachina. I love what I have chosen as a career and the place that is launching it. I have a sweet 2 1/2 year old pitbull named “Banks”, I rescued him in 2017 and he has forever changed my life. I may be a little “biased” when it comes to Pitbulls, but I love all breeds of animals. The joy that I get working with animals is something so great, I wont give it up! I enjoy being able to care for each and every pet that walks in our doors.

  • Malea Mangone
    Hospital Manager

I have been in the veterinary world since 1998. I gained my state and national license as a CVT (certified veterinary technician) in 2009. I called Oregon home until I was 19, when I moved to Prescott on a whim. I spent some time working in critical care facilities here in Arizona then explored the same in California and Chicago before returning back to the sunny state of Arizona. After working in small and large animal medicine, emergency/critical care, surgical specialty, internal medicine and trauma triage, I have planted roots in Dewey. I am very excited to be part of the team at KAH and look forward to meeting all our patients. I share my home with my dogs Karma and Bash as well as my horses Apache, Joe, Majesty and Otis.

  • Jennifer Tupy
    Client Service Representative - Supervisor

I grew up in Barrington, Illinois, in the suburbs of Chicago.  Horses were my childhood passion and I spent most of my time horseback riding and working with polo ponies.   After high school I moved out west to attend college in Colorado and Arizona.  I have been working in the veterinary field since 2002, beginning as a receptionist at a small animal clinic in Tucson to an office manager at an animal hospital in Tempe.  After graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, I moved up to the Prescott area to enjoy the cooler weather and all the outdoor adventures it has to offer.  At home I have two Terriers named Fenway & Sidda & a feisty Yorkipoo named Bubba.  In my free time, I love camping, ATVing, road trips & gardening.

  • Sheri Walters
    Client Service Representative

Hello there! I am a Prescott Native, born & raised. I have seen many changes in the area over the last 30++ years (wink, wink) but it is still my favorite place to be and I'm proud to call it home. I started in the veterinary field directly out of high school in '93. In this field I've tried it all - I started as a kennel attendant, moved to reception, tech'd for a short time, and even went into management. Since my passion is animals & family I have learned, over the years that the front office is the place for me. I cherish the relationships built with the fur babies and their families. I have many fur babies of my own including 'Emma' (in the pic) and I am the proud mom of 3 amazing daughters (and blessed with several 'bonus' daughters). We spend as much time as possible in our beautiful outdoors. I'm starting my 6th year here at KAH and I am honored to be part of this amazing team! Come on in & say hi!

  • Heaven Terry
    Animal Caregiver

I've always had an unexplainable connection and love for animals. My mom always says that I never met an animal that didn't like me or vice versa. I've had animals around me my entire life. This is the first time I've worked in a veterinarian's office. I have worked in a boarding kennel in Phoenix for almost 2 years. I've primarily lived in Phoenix most of my life, but since my dad was in the army, I've also lived in Germany, Maryland and New York. I just recently moved to Prescott Valley. Growing up, my path took me towards the arts mostly. It wasn't until I was an adult that I realized that working with animals is my calling. I currently have 6 dogs, 2 cats and a snake. They are my babies! I can't wait to see what my future unfolds.

  • Buck Smith
    Hospital Maintenance

I am a longtime lover of animals and have spent most of my adult life caring for them in some capacity. I graduated from Yavapi College with a certificate in animal behavior. I have made the transition from construction and masonry to the veterinary world. I am now in an environment I love and am able to use my skills to better the hospital. My children are grown now so I devote my time to my dog Pearl.

  • "Dr. Lynn was so comforting as we assisted Shilo over the rainbow bridge. Shilo had his first puppy shots with her and his last shot today at 13. She and her staff are amazing and I would not go anywhere else."
    Beth W.
  • "I have been taking my fur babies here for a long time. Just the other day I had to bring in one of my older fur babies and have her euthanized. This was my first experience with this as an adult. Every staff member I encountered during this rough day was amazing. They were all kind and caring. They made the whole situation a little easier to handle. While holding my fur baby and giving her all the love I could the vet tech and veterinarian kept my 2 year old occupied by talking to him and playing with him. They didn’t have to do that but they did. I wish I could remember their names. But their faces are forever in my memory of helping us through that sad time. I am forever grateful for the wonderful people at Kachina Animal Hospital!"
